Hall vs- Norfolk & Wes tern railway was the first case to come up on the civil docket. This case consumed the greater part of a day and a half. I, this case Hall was suing for $20,000 for injuries sustain while learning to becom a fireman. He was struck by a passing car while standing a little ways out of an engine on another track. The jury awarded Hall $2,500 damages. But the jury failed to answer a complaint, and the case will be tried .again. The Railroad was'represented by Attys Guthrie and W. D. Merritt and Ex-Gov. W. W.
